You don't like condoms or oral dams?

Ladies and gentlemen, holy shit! If there is anything on anyone's mind these days, it's sex. And when it comes to sex, for some strange reason, people have a huge problem discussing std's, sti's, and have the most trouble with saying the word no. And this is not about rape, but condom-use. No, condoms and oral dams don't work all the time, and they don’t prevent everything, especially diseases that are spread by skin to skin contact, i.e, herpes, genital warts, and syphilis. They just lessen chances. Chances of what? Well, if you weren't so concerned about satisfaction all the time, you'd say: "Well std's, sti's, and getting pregnant of course." But if you looooooove sex and your number one concern is satisfaction, then you would say, "Well pleasure and utility, dugh!"
You think condoms don't feel good? Well, let's try looking at a worse situation. How does trichomoniasis feel? How about chlamydia? Oh, and what about gonorrhea? Do you know how those things feel? Hopefully not. Do you want to know? Hopefully not!
But I'll tell you what, when you're one of the people that hasn't been screened for std's and sti's, and you don't know your partner's status on such screenings and tests, you may as well be screaming and moaning "Oh baby! Make me HIV positive! Oh baby! Give me LGV!" in bed.
Stop thinking about how much pausing to put a condom on ruins the mood. Wouldn't you much rather a mood be ruined than the health or life of yourself and your partner?

Why do you think pleasure is more important than health to some people? Is it possible that, in the heat of passion or lust, all rationality is dulled or lost completely?

Hmm, let's see, always get tested when with a partner, one night stand or otherwise! Never engage in sexual contact with someone with an obvious infection. Yes, I know, you may love that person, but if they love you, they will care for your health, and sex will not be that big of an issue. Btw, condoms are horible things at best, but a necessary evil at worst

"Why do you think pleasure is more important than health to some people?" Just look at the very recent discussion on the "being fat" board and tell me if this doesn't apply 100%, pleasure is more important than health to lots and lots of people, unless it's the hormones in our foods that make folks unrationally horny of course.

hmmm. I'm against the condems. as per my personal opinion, that interepts the awesome skinny relativity with my partner. I do agree that's safe but as I've never been into a prostitution or I've never slept with unknowns and, I'll never do that mistake in my life. so I don't need that stupid invention.

so a very big down down to the condems.

Raaj.

Now, I pride myself on knowing a good deal about sex and similar topics, but I have to confess I've never heard of an oral dam. I understand the idea, but can someone help me understand the design and logistics of such a device if it does indeed exist? I mean, how do you use your tongue, if something is barring the entry of any possibly infected substances ingested by performing oral sex?

An oral dam, sometimes known as a dental dam, is used for oral sex when performed on a female. It can be made by cutting the rim off of a condom. The dam is placed over the area that is to be performed on.

Thanks so much for posting this topic. I'm actually interested in becoming a lecturer regarding safe sex, so any extra info you could give me would be really appreciated. Condoms are the only form of birth controlthat offer protection against stds and stis and while testing is always a good idea, if you are worried about such things or if you and/or your partner seeotherpeople, it's important to keep that in mind when choosing your form of contraception. There are also female condoms out there which are (very slightly) less affective than the male but which offer grater protection against stds etc. A huge benefit for those whofeel that condoms ruin the mood due to having to stop to put one on is that the woman can have it in place before the intercourse begins. Another benefit to condoms is that they're hormoan-free. There are also ones available for people sensative to latex or lubricants and for men who need more or less than the standard size.

A female condom, or femadom as I believe they're called here, is so huge that it looks like a cylindrical shopping bag. I'd hate to have to wade through one of those to get near enough to her vaginal walls to give her a good time.

cammenbear, uh, thanks for that insight I guess?

It's not huge. Part of it hangs out of the vagina but the part that's inside is snug and tight. *smile*

I've seen them, and I've investigated a good number of vaginas, and honestly the femadom looks like it could be acomodated by far larger vaginas than I've ever seen. lol so yes they're huge.

Using a condom is amount to taking a shower with your clothes on

Whoa! Um, not really! If you think about it, taking a shower naked serves the same purpose as using a condom in bed. And what would that be? I wanna see if anyone can guess.
